This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I work for an amazing inclusion preschool program that provides services to students with cognitive, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Our site is located in the city and we have a small playground that could use a few more toys for our students to play with during recess.
Our students love to jump, run, and play, and we are hoping to give them more opportunities to do so!
In addition to new play equipment, I would also like to create cultural learning opportunities throughout our exercise unit. I would like to incorporate different stories that are representative of athletes of various abilities as well as racial and cultural backgrounds such as Wilma Rudolph and Laurie Hernandez.
By donating to this project, you will be providing new play-based learning and social opportunities for our young scholars. If funded, I know that the equipment donated to our school will be greatly appreciated for years to come!
