Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our 4th and 5th grade team services about 200 students. We are a Title 1 school in the heart of Miami where it is more common to hear Spanish spoken in our hallways than English.
Our learners come from various backgrounds and many are just starting to get used to life in a new country.
Our students are eager to learn and work hard to achieve success. We take each day one step at a time and our strength lies in our diversity. We are a group; we are a team; we are a family.
My Project
Students perform better when they are learning in a warm and welcoming environment. This project will help to enhance our literature centers and flexible seating arrangements. I created this funding opportunity at the behest of my students who wanted to expand our literature reading centers and flexible seating arrangements in our classroom.
With the Kid's Court rugs, we will be able to include up to 4 more students in our flexible seating model (floor seating).
The Flex Space beanbag will offer an excellent and comfortable seating option that will allow for better focus during silent reading. The GoLine Nightlight will create a calm and welcoming atmosphere, helping students to feel at ease while they study.
This one is by my students and for my students. Help them make their classroom a place they are eager to return to and reluctant to leave.
