My Project

I teach at an older, urban school and on most days I have 30 students in my class. Many of my wonderful second-grade students are the children of deployed military personnel. Some are deemed at-risk, some are trying very hard to learn English, and some are struggling because they are newcomers or have limited support at home, but they all keep trying and I love their can-do attitudes. Almost all of my students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch, but we are not a Title I school, and, as a result, we lack the resources and opportunities of many other schools.

My students need these journals, colored pencils, and markers for their science research, and chair pockets to store their work safely.

This year my students will be learning so much and they need some supplies and incentives to help them. They need Kleenex tissues to stay healthy, snacks to power through the afternoon, and some Play-Doh as a reward for all their hard work.
