My students need a camera for their photojournalism portion of their journalism class. They would love to learn how to operate a professional digital camera.

My Students

There are so many challenges my students face on a daily basis so, when they get excited about something, so do I! This is a special year because my students are especially excited about our journalism program.

My students are 99% African American who range from 16 to 21.

Almost all of them qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. My school is a alternative charter school. All of my students come to out school for a second chance because they were all unsuccessful at their previous school(s).

My Project

I hope to teach my students how to use this camera while teaching them about the impact photojournalism can have. A picture is worth a thousand words and can be a wonderful way to express yourself. I hope to inspire my students who then will be able to inspire others through the school newspaper.

Donations for this project will greatly improve our classroom experience because my students understand how lucky they will be to be blessed with such a generous gift from people who believe in their education.

This camera will change my students' lives because they may not be able to learn how to operate a professional camera in their lives.
