I’m a second grade teacher currently working at a high-needs school. About 98% of students receive free lunch, which indicates that their income falls below the poverty level. Many students are behind academically. However, they are eager to learn.
With the increasing emphasis of standardized testing, it has become crucial for students to have the materials enabling them to do well. However, even with this goal, my students still find themselves with a shortage of the needed books.
The resources I'm requesting will help my students meet the academic standards required of them. The reading and math journals will sharpen student skills by increasingly challenging them. Lastly, all sets of journals will provide helpful test taking strategies.
The resources I'm requesting will enable my students to be more prepared for the third grade. The math, reading, and writing journals will sharpen student skills by increasing their comprehension. The journals will also provide a variety of skill practices for standardized tests.
