This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello everyone! My name is Bailey Musselman and I am a middle school educator at a Title I school located in El Cerrito, CA. In addition to teaching English Language Arts, I lead a student elective for 7th and 8th graders.

Our elective, "Journaling" gives students the opportunity to explore their creativity and decompress at the end of their school day.

This elective helps students to reduce stress, gain writing confidence, support memory, and boost their overall mood.

With these materials, students will be given their own journals and the opportunity to express themselves through different mediums like sticker art, scrapbooking paper, and paint pens. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, students are needing more support for their social-emotional needs; this elective aims to support that endeavor. Thank you for any support you can give!
