This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is located in Deep South Texas and most of my students come from low socioeconomic status. Some of my students have never been in school or a daycare setting. It’s the beginning of their educational lives and sometimes requires a period of adjusting. My students are learning their letter names and sounds and with this comes learning about loving to read.

This binding machine will be used to make journals for students to use in our writing stations.

When the journals are done they will each be able to have a clipboard to keep their journal in place while they are writing. Many times students struggle keeping the journal sturdy so these clipboards will be great for that. The erasers will be used to replenish the ones we have that are breaking.
