We are finally joining the 21st century with the procurement of 10 mini iPads. We desperately need durable protective covers to ensure the safety of our new technology.
My students are typical of Wyoming students.
Many of our students come from farming or ranching backgrounds. The students are proud of their agricultural background. One of the largest employers for our town is a power plant located just outside of town. The community as a whole is not financially affluent, but the people who are from here are proud of where they grew up. Students in our small community are not generally exposed to all that would be available to them in a large city including the benefits of technology. The students are isolated from higher education facilities. There is only one four year university in Wyoming and the nearest community college is over 80 miles away. The school is public and serves over 300 students in grades 9-12.
My Project
Our school was fortunate enough to receive funds for the purchase of 10 mini iPads for student use. This has enabled our students to join the digital age in ways they never have before. Even though this puts us farther ahead of where we were the students are still sharing the devices with a group of students during class. Unfortunately, the funds ran out before we were able to purchase cases to keep this wonderful technology safe. My students need 10 protective cases for the mini iPads we just received for our classroom.
This project will allow us to use the new iPads for years to come.
My students are excited to have some technology to use in their classrooms. My students live in a digitized world and we need to be supporting that type of exploration and learning in the classroom.
