This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a small, rural community in eastern North Carolina. We are all family around here, and that carries into our classrooms. We all want the best for our students!

Sometimes we just need a little help to help them succeed.

Band is where every student has a part, every student gets playing time, every student is as important as the next. I have many students in my program. Many of whom borrowed instruments, or were given instruments used by family before them. They work hard and do not take their musical journey for granted. Help me give them a tool for success, that will keep them safe and can be used by many others after them!

My Project

Band is such a great opportunity to learn important life lessons while learning an instrument. In the Band, everyone is important, everyone has a role, everyone is involved, and everyone matters! This year our band has 43 members in it! It is our first year back since Covid has happened and in order to make the band room a safer place to rehearse, we are asking for support in purchasing Pods. The Pods will be assigned to each individual student, and they will sit in them during band rehearsal. This will help limit the amount of aerosols that are able to spread throughout the room, allowing for a safer environment for learning. Please join our squad, and give the band a Pod!
