We are a title 1 school, with some very talented and respectful students. We do all we can to help them succeed, and they in return give us their very best to succeed. There are times when we simply need help to get them the materials and tools they need to succeed. Imagine, a classroom without enough desks for students to use! The music stand is the desk of the music room. Using a stand helps keep our student's materials all in one place, and thus gives us more time to work on our musicianship, rather than searching for materials. The music stand also promotes proper posture, as students will have a place that rises to hold their music, keeping them from having to look onto the floor, or share a stand with four other people. The music stand is an essential tool in the music room. We have 62 members in our band, and own only 16 music stands! That means even with students tripled up to a stand, we still have students not able to use a stand for class! We simply need more music stands to help equip our students for success. Please consider helping us in obtaining more music stands for our band students. Thank you!
