Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a small charter school in Northern California that teaches students from kindergarten all the way to high school. Our population has many students from very low-income and disadvantaged homes. We provide a safe learning environment with a family-like mentality. Everyone knows everyone.

My students come from diverse backgrounds with varying degrees of knowledge and exposure to the world outside of our small community.

My Project

I teach in a low socioeconomic school with a large, diverse population. Each month we are bringing different diverse educational opportunities to our K-12 campus. We include all grades to celebrate these differences and try to promote unity and acceptance.

Having a Cricut available to our campus will help highlight these diverse and inclusive activities.

Teachers are already stretched thin and having this tool available to us will help our creativity spill out onto our campus and therefore our students.

With this Cricut Maker and accessories, we can also create fun shirts and class crafts to help our students feel part of our YCCS team.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
