Jennifer Smith Memorial Garden

Help me give my students funding to create this garden in memory of a teacher who passed away. We want our students to experience an outdoor learning lab to learn and grow in while at school.

My Project

The "Jennifer Smith Memorial Garden, Where ALL Students Can Grow and Bloom" will be a vegetable garden that the students will help plant, care for, and harvest for consumption at school. This will allow the students in a small rural school that is impacted by poverty and other societal issues to experience gardening and could be a possible solution to the isses that plague our rural students, as well as a remedy for childhood obesity with exposure to vegetables.

We are going to have an adjacent pollinator friendly garden with plants that are native to SC.

This area would also house an outdoor learning environment that includes seating for students and habitats for animals. We want the outdoor learning lab to be a place where students will learn and grow within our school.
