How does a kid who didn't read a book until he was 17 grow up and become a literary star?
Jason Reynolds is a rad, young, black author who is on faculty at Lesley University.
This is a man who didn't love to read but became a catalyst for change when he started authoring high-interest books for young people.
I am hoping to read "Long Way Down" with my 11th graders. I have found my students stay engaged when they have a book written in this century! I love the classics, but then again, I am a 52 year-old English teacher!
