My Students

I get the joy of working with a very diverse group of third grade students. Our local community is a melting pot of different cultures situated near a military base. Many of my students depend on free or reduced-price lunches. My classroom contains students of various ability levels, and also includes the gifted cluster of kids. My students are curious, energetic, creative, and loving!

My students are a community of avid readers who love to dive into a good book!

My Project

My students love to explore and analyze chapter books together. I have requested a classroom set of "James and the Giant Peach", which will allow us all to read the book together and complete fun activities chapter by chapter based on the novel. My goal is to acquire more novel sets so that we can customize our learning more and so that we will not be reliant only the basal reader stories. I have also requested the movie so that when we are finished, we can compare and contrast the book with the movie! This set would allow my classroom to experience a classic piece of literature together and spark their love of reading!
