Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach PE to students in grades K-5 in a multicultural school that celebrates diversity. My students enjoy running, racing, biking, bowling, dancing, and tennis. They also enjoy reading, math and playing foursquare and basketball at recess. All the students at my school are able to eat breakfast at school for free. Many students are bilingual. A few don't speak much English but are making progress every day. Students in my PE classes are currently working on dance concepts, nutrition, and Frisbee skills.

My Project

We currently have jump ropes that are hard to turn. They get all curled up and for kids learning to turn and jump, it's very difficult. The beaded jump ropes I'm requesting will help students feel more successful when turning jump ropes. They will also help students learn to jump rope faster and with less frustration. Having enough jump ropes for an entire class would be wonderful. These jump ropes are colorful, easy to turn and will make learning to jump rope so much more fun for students. These beaded jump ropes will also make it easier for more students to do different jump rope tricks. Students with special needs will benefit from the jump rope that lights up. These beaded jump ropes will also help them have more fun as they learn to jump.
