Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am trying to create a sensory based classroom for my students with autism. The world can be an overwhelming place and I need to give my students a safe place away from home. My students enjoy the freedom of moving around the classroom and it is my hope to create a healthy and sensory based classroom that will help them meet their sensory needs while teaching them self-regulation. The ideal classroom would have a sensory room, however due to space, I would like to create corner. The crocodile busy board will help my students have a safe ans interactive activity to do during hard transitions.

The sensory hugger pillow will be placed in our calm down center to help my students with self-regulation skills.

My students deserve the classroom of their dreams.
