Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach third grade in a public school. My class consists of 15 children who come to school happy and excited to learn. They are very easygoing and have a sunny outlook on life.

My students have a lot of positive energy and are eager to take on big and ambitious projects.

They are starting to explore ideas and concepts that interest them and they are willing to take risks. The class is very social and they enjoy participating in activities throughout the day. They are hard workers and are always excited to take on a new challenge.

My Project

The storage bins are a key component in any reader's workshop. The bins will provide the students with an opportunity to choose reading material that interests them and it gives them their own personal space to keep their books organized.

The students can choose reading material from our library and store them in their bin for easy access during independent reading time.

The students can also make their bins more personal by decorating their labels.

When the students have some spare time or are finished with an assignment, the book bin is easily accessible and eliminates time wasted "book shopping."
