My Students

I teach in a neighborhood school that is full of amazing students in grades kindergarten through fifth. They spend the day striving to be their best academically and socially. They work hard at their academic success. My students are full of energy each and every day! During the school day, the children are limited to once weekly physical education class. During class, I promote education about healthy eating and exercise, and children participate in jumping rope for their healthy hearts.

My Project

During PE, I utilize student skill stations and fitness groups with students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. During these small groups, there are different exercise / activity stations scattered throughout the gym. The students do the exercise listed at their station for a set time, then rotate to the next station. Currently, I must watch my stopwatch and blow a whistle every few minutes to indicate it’s time to change stations. Having a flextime countdown clock would give students the visual cue to switch stations.

The flextimer would also allow me better opportunity to move between the stations and assist students with techniques, instead of staring at a stopwatch.

This is something I would use literally everyday with student skill stations and fitness groups. Please consider donating to my project to help improve the learning in my physical education classes.
