Schools have a unique opportunity to help children become more active and healthy which can, in turn, increase academic performance. On the basketball court, younger children want to play, but are limited by the existing equipment. I'd like to provide a cascading goal set, which attaches to an existing goal to provide two additional regulation size goals 1 foot lower than the hoop above it. This will provide a much greater chance of success for my students. In addition, we could use some basketballs for smaller hands. I’d like to inspire children to be more active and to develop basketball, as well as social and teamwork, skills. With the help of generous donors, my elementary school students will be able to actively participate in playing basketball.
