My Students
My students are an awesome group of scholars who love learning new things.
On that note they love using technology (tablets & computers).
Many of them do not have that exposure of technology at home. Both my parents and scholars have expressed their desire to use technology at home. The math program that we use includes apps for the scholars to take online assessments, interactive homework, small group and individualized leveled assignments. In addition to that many of my scholars are struggling reader. They need daily practice of phonics and Sight words. They love downloading and reading their favorite books. There are many apps available that they love and use in class. The overall goal is to prepare the scholars for the future, closing gaps and moving them higher.
My Project
My students need to stay in touch with current events in the world today. Time magazine helps me reach that goal. This tool allows the students to read and comprehend current events on their reading level. The topics will lead to rich discussion. They can share their experiences with their families and keep them up to date. They not only be able to read a hard copy but they can read digital copies. The additional features are a plus. Those activities can be done in centers as well as home work. Time magazines is an another choice to learning for the scholars!
