It is important to teacher scholars in new and more creative fun ways. Each lesson opens in the gathering area where I teach a mini lesson then use my check list to assess for understanding. I do this by asking questions, having them answer them on paper or verbally. There are times when I have them respond by using technology where it boost student engagement. However I don't have enough to go around. They love using the math, reading and writing apps to enhance learning when they are in small groups and independent activities. These are the tools that enhance learning.
