It's Time to Dig Into Gardening!

Help me give my students a Wooden Vegetable Garden Playset with Realistic Tools

My Project

I am "planting" ahead for our new Gardening Study beginning on February 21st. My students will be hands-on with their Magnetic Discovery Board which can be interchanged with different types of seeds and parts of a plant. The "Plants Magnetic Activity Tin" will help young scholars sort and classify fruits and vegetables that all come from a garden. Materials such as "Melissa & Doug's Let's Explore Flower Gardening Play" will be in their Dramatic Play center so they can practice role-playing a gardener. The goal is to create a resource-rich environment for my students to understand our unit of study. In addition, the "Insect X-Ray and Picture Cards" will be placed in their Science Center where we focus on what insects visit a garden. The exposure my bright scholars will receive from these resources will be used to the fullest extent possible. The books selected for our unit of study will become repeated read-alouds, where we discuss vocabulary and sequencing.

My young scholars will be thrilled to explore hands-on learning materials as we dive deep into a garden's ecosystem!

This 2022-2023 school year is the first year we are implementing a Gardening Study. With that being said, my classroom resources are low. I have selected intentional learning tools that will be used throughout our six-week journey to understanding nature and science!
