My Project

My classes consist of two small learning groups of students daily, who despite their various disabilities and challenges they face each day, come to school eager and ready to learn. The students inside my class receive specialized instruction in math both in inclusion classes as well as in small learning group classes which are beneficial for them in reaching their academic goals.

One of my biggest goals as a teacher is for every student to feel safe, and comfortable especially since the pandemic which has impacted their personal lives at home, their academics, mental health, emotional health, and social health.

Because of this, I wanted to provide them with some time when they could decompress from their academics. I wanted to be able to provide them with the necessary school supplies, and some math workbooks needed for class, a chance for them to have a snack and games/ coloring books to be able to have the opportunity to unwind with their classmates.

I also wanted to get some board games as well as some card games such as Jenga, Bananagrams, and Uno to name a few, these games which would help my students make new friends, as well as practice their strategic thinking and just be able to have a good time laughing. My students work hard every day, they deserve to have a break to destress from their daily stresses. But it is also important that they have a safe uplifting environment as well so I would like to get some lighting and class decoration as well as some cleaning supplies to keep the class clean and safe.
