The use of flexible seating is not being used in highschool classrooms but we continuously fight and have to think of creative ways to get our students with ADHD to stay focused in class and this can be very challenging during a lesson. Especially, as a firsts year teacher, I am limited in the resources available to my students. In an effort to provide flexible seating as best as I currently can, students are invited to complete assignments only at the tables and chairs that the school has provided and sometimes I will allow them to sit on my rolling chair but there is only two of them, otherwise they lay down on the extra chairs in the class or even sometimes on the bookshelves or on the tables throughout the classroom. a However, I'm observing students trying to rock in their school chairs and walk around more and more. I have observed, that when students are able to physically move, their collaboration and efforts improve. As children have unlimited amounts of energy, I believe it is essential for them to be able to move around the classroom. Therefore, providing students with wobble chairs and balance balls plays an important role in their participation and grit.
