Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Reading and thinking! We need paper and sticky notes to collect those amazing thoughts and index cards to make sight word cards for extra practice.
I am an intervention teacher that provides small group targeted instruction to accelerate students' reading, bringing them closer to grade level standards.
The students I service are working below grade level and are provided with 40 extra minutes a day of instruction.
My Project
As an intervention teacher, I do not have a homeroom class, therefore I do not have parents assigned to me that can send in supplies for the students I will service. Due to budget cuts, the teachers at my school have been given no allowance to buy supplies. Supplies have to come out of our pockets. Students will use sticky notes to collect their thinking while reading, index cards will be used to make flashcards for sight word recognition and for making words activities along with word sorting for spelling. Copy paper will provide students with copies for practice at home with the skills they learn in group.
In order to provide my groups with the best instruction to meet the high demands of the common core standards, I need basic supplies; copy paper, index cards and sticky notes.
