My first grade students walk into our Disney-themed classroom every morning eager to learn. They are unique individuals, however, and they function as hands-on learners with big imaginations.
My students have a passion for working with technology.
My classroom is a general education classroom, teaching all core subject areas. Considering the students' individual learning styles, technology is an effective tool to cater to their personal needs.
In addition, I would love to instill that learning is fun! I believe that through the innovative use of technology in my classroom, my students will enjoy learning while preparing for the high-tech future.
My Project
As an educator to twenty first grade students of various learning styles, it is important for me to provide opportunities to prepare my students for the future. I am asking for the tablets, so that students can become technologically savvy, while using apps that enrich their learning.
The addition of tablets in the classroom, will provide my students with an engaging method to learn and enhance their technological skills.
New technology will provide an enhancement in literacy and math skills. Students can use apps that challenge them on their own level. My students will have the opportunity to share their learning through independent digital projects. Tablets would provide my students with the opportunity to conduct research and keep an online journal of learning to share with their families.
More tablets in our classroom would benefit the students immensely and properly prepare them for their future!
