It's Rhyme Time! Let the Games Begin!

Help me give my students Nursery Rhymes Storytime Viewers, books, and games to support reading readiness.

My Project

My kindergarten students love to practice nursery rhymes in library class each week. Engaging in hands-on activities, small and whole group games, singing along, and finding the rhymes on our wall mural make the learning even more fun!

Recognizing rhymes and creating rhymes are essential phonological skills.

I focus on rhyming with my kindergarten classes in order to support their reading readiness. The rhyming puzzles and storytime viewers I am requesting will provide my students with more opportunities to practice rhyming.

To celebrate their learning, students participate in the Nursery Rhyme Olympics. After reciting each rhyme, students play "Olympic Games" that match each rhyme. My goal in creating this project is to make this event special by presenting my students with "medals" and their own Nursery Rhyme books at the end of the Games. I know these little extras will make this event a memorable one for my students! Thank you for your consideration.
