This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are mostly English Learners and were hit hard by the pandemic, but they are persevering! They are a motivated bunch! But most of my students live in dwellings with no books to call their own. That's why a classroom library of high-interest books is so important!

We have made great strides this year, and my students are back on track, reading every day!

Their favorite corner contains my graphic novels. Because I have so few graphic novels, they aren't allowed to check them out and take them home. More books would allow more kids the opportunity to read at school AND at home!
