My Students

Many of the students in our school come from a high poverty area. Some do not have the opportunity to go places and explore new things due to financial constraints. Sometimes, what are students really want is a place to go that is safe, loving and fun. Our students are full of energy and LOVE hands-on learning. They excel in their studies when they are all able to participate. It's amazing to see students use their imaginations and create a home-to-school connection, acting out some things they may see or want to see at their homes.

When my students make a home-to-school connection, the smile on their faces and the excitement in their voices really create a better classroom environment.

My Project

On our last project, we requested a cricut machine and many of the items that go along with it so we can create shirts and tumblers for our students and PTO. However, we did not take into consideration that we also needed a heat press to adhere things to the shirts.

This being said, we are requesting a heat press and mats to make creating these shirts a little easier.

We can also include the kids (with adults helping of course!) in the making of the shirts. Students will already be involved with designing items, but they will also now have the opportunity to actually make the shirts as well!
