My Project
At our school, students are learning how to become highly effective leaders through the 8 Habits. I am teaching students to become leaders of themselves, others, and the community. One way I teach students to be a leader is to help them find their voice. This is done through C.R.E.W Hour.
C.R.E.W Hour is a safe space where students get to discover their voice and share their passions.
C.R.E.W. is a place where I can connect with students on a personal level and build relationships with them. When students come to my C.R.E.W, they show their creativity and passion through keychain and jewelry making.
Students will use various types of beads, charms, rubber bands, keychain links, glue, and strings to make keychains and jewelry, such as bracelets and necklaces. They will then use the shrink art and diamond art kits to make keychains. The clay bead spinner and rainbow loom hook will help younger students to make their bracelets.
Since the start of the school year, my C.R.E.W has become popular amongst kindergarten through 5th grade students. With the supplies I am asking for, I can reach students from each grade level and let them be free with their creations. Providing time and supplies where students can explore their interests and creativity is essential in helping students feel motivated and confident in school. This time also helps students build stronger relationships not only with their teachers but with their peers.
