Our students are from diverse backgrounds with approximately 25% of our students learning English as a second language. We are in an urban area in Columbus, Ohio.
Students who enter our building encounter energetic teachers who provide various learning opportunities in a nurturing environment.
Our goal is to challenge students to be learners for the 21st century.
Learning is centered around the different learning styles and needs of the students to enable students to achieve their own goals. Data notebooks and goal setting are utilized in each of our classrooms to focus on achievement.
We have an amazing building on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. Our building in not air conditioned and the temperatures are extremely hot during certain periods of the year.
Our students come to the ESL classroom to work on acquiring English skills.
A portable air conditioner would give them a respite from the heat and help them to focus on learning their important skills.
Learning when it is hot and humid puts additional stress on my students who are already at a deficit when it comes to the English language. The ability to focus and increase their English language proficiency will be helpful to our students.
