It’s All About the Engagement!

Help me give my students this piece of technology to engage instruction while remote learning. This includes an Apple iPad.

My Students

I teach 14 young scholars math, ELA, science, and social studies. As we are making the shift from fully in-person to also accommodating students who are remote, I am constantly working on ways to engage my students daily and making sure all of their needs are getting met. I want to continue to make my lessons engaging and to continue to reach those who are at home.

My goal is to record lessons on the iPad and upload them onto Google classroom and ClassDojo for parents to access alongside with students as a review or if they missed instruction.

My Project

I will grow professionally by making sure I am reflecting daily on the use of the iPad on different ways to get students involved. It will help keep me focused and set up my students for success through in-person and remote learning. I will apply what I’ve learned by making sure parents and students have access to a lot more content outside of just regular and daily posting of homework and assignments.

My students will benefit because they will get a recording to help them if they are absent or if they need a review.

The lessons that I feel that students will most likely benefit from will be reading as a whole group and working on our research for writing. They will benefit from this not only from the recording but by being able to pause the lesson and go back if they need extra clarification. Then for the read-alouds, I can record me reading the story and then upload for them to listen along and go back to answer the comprehension questions and journal response.
