Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Empowering our students, celebrating our community, and inspiring lifelong growth is the goal in our school district. Our students come from a diverse population and bring to school a variety of cultures. Over 50% of our students are low-income and qualify for free and reduced-price lunches.

Due to the pandemic our students are in desperate need of activities to improve their fine motor skills.

Our first grade team would love the ability to use engaging and developmentally appropriate activities to improve the fine motor skills for our young students. These are core skills needed to do simple tasks such as holding a pencil, zipping up a jacket, tying their shoes. Your donation to our project will support all students within our district's first grade. Thank you so much for your consideration!

My Project

These fine motor materials will allow students to improve their coordination and ability to do simple tasks with their hands. These various activities will have students pinching, pulling, pushing, grasping, and twisting different items to improve their motor control. These may seem like simple actions that everyone can do, however many students struggle with controlling their movements - even ones such as grasping a pencil!

Fine motor control is critical component of a child's development.

Also, not only do they use these skills while at school, but also for all the different tasks that they do when it comes to self-care at home. With your support, we will be able to provide students engaging activities to improve those crucial skills.
