ITALIAN SPRING UNITY BALL

Help me give my students Supplies and materials that will allow students to design, create, and sell Carnevale-inspired masks while also producing vibrant decorations that will transform our Spring Unity Ball into an immersive cultural experience.

My Project

Our Italian Spring Unity Ball, inspired by the vibrant traditions of Italian Carnevale, celebrates the diversity, creativity, and shared experiences of our high school students. What we value most about our students is their curiosity about the world, their desire to belong, and the unique cultural perspectives they bring to our school community each day. This project creates an inclusive space where students from all backgrounds can connect through music, art, language, and cultural exploration while building confidence and interpersonal skills.

In preparation for the event, students will lead fundraisers by designing, creating, decorating, and selling traditional Carnevale masks, gaining hands-on entrepreneurial and artistic experience.

Auditions for student performances will encourage self-expression and leadership, while strong cross-club collaboration will enrich the project: the Ceramic Club will design charms and accessories, and Fashion and ASU clubs will support student models and costume creation inspired by Carnevale traditions. All profits generated through fundraising and resale activities will be used directly to support the event — including catering, security, and decorations — while also establishing sustainable funds for next year’s club initiatives. All fundraising components and financial practices will remain fully compliant with PGCPS policies and school guidelines. Through cultural decorations, interactive learning stations, performances, and collaborative art projects, students will engage in authentic learning that promotes teamwork, cross-cultural understanding, and real-world communication. The event strengthens unity within our school while empowering students to explore creativity, leadership, and global awareness.
