My Students

My caseload is a combination of students in grades three and four. Out of the twelve students, three of them are girls and nine of them are boys. These students have varying needs, both academically and emotionally. They are amazing kids who need to be met with varying levels of support. These students all receive special education services through an Individual Education Plan. Areas of disabilities include LD (Learning Disability), OHD (Other Health Disability), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), and DCD:MM (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities: Mild to Moderate).

My Project

My classroom demands that a variety of ability levels are met with differing needs for success. No two days are the same, just like no two children are the same. Some students need more sensory input in order to achieve their fullest potential, while other students need a multi-sensory approach to their learning.

I want my classroom to be a safe space for my students and that means providing them with the means they need in order to thrive in their academic environment.

In order to be prepared, it is very important that I am equipped with a variety of sensory items and multi-sensory curriculum accessories.
