We like to tech things out! In this classroom, we have students who are eager to work with technology! We are at a Title I school which means that many of our students are on free or reduced price lunch. My students are HARD workers and persevere to do their best! They thrive on the use of technology within the classroom. The use of digital notebooks in our classroom allow the students to show a variety of ways which they understand content.
They are a group of people that include a variety of exceptionalities including Deaf and Hard of Hearing within the general education classroom, students that have relocated from Puerto Rico, and gifted students.
My Project
OneNote digital notebooks are making a significant impact in my classroom. Students have a variety of tools at their fingertips to display their understanding of a many different concepts. It gives them the flexibility to access their assignments from school and home. I can also provide immediate feedback on homework assignments because their notebooks sync to mine automatically. It helps close the gap between at home practice and need for support.
Student engagement is at its highest when EVERY student has access to a device.
These two devices will make our classroom that much closer to being a 1:1 classroom. With the variety of learning tools available on Windows devices, it helps build understanding for a variety of students; including but not limited to, students that use English as a second language; one which is displaced from Puerto Rico and others that have American Sign Language as their primary language). As well as students with learning disabilities reading below grade level and gifted students that will have easy access to research support for greater understanding.
