This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school with a high population of ESOL students. I am constantly amazed by my students' desire to learn and the amount of determination they have to succeed. One of the best ways I have found to provide for all of my students' diverse needs is hands-on learning and technology integration. Technology is able to bring to life many of the abstract concepts that my students are learning about and allows them to interact with a concept, instead of merely reading about it.

Students who are actively engaged are able to learn more and at a deeper level.

Technology allows us to tailor the education to meet the educational and cultural needs of the students.

My Project

In physical science my students complete basic calculation in both the chemistry and the physics portions of the class. Many of my students do not have calculators of there own and my current supply has dwindled to the point that I do not have enough to go around. A classroom set of calculators will allow all students to complete there problems to the best of their ability. With a full set I will be able to provide for everyone taking the stress of both students and their parents in the need to provide one. The calculators will be used almost daily in the classroom.
