This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the first words your child ever said to you and how freeing the world of communication made them feel, well my students are searching for that freedom. Please help them free their voices.

My students are super cute full of life 3-5 year old's.

They all come to me having been identified as having a delay of some kind. Most of them are struggling to communicate, but they have it waiting inside of them ready to burst out. Every parent states that the one goal they want for their children to achieve is the ability to communicate.

My Project

Right now in my classroom we are using a visual picture system for my students to let me know their wants and needs, but they all have a hard time understanding how the system works. However with the use of the iPad I am requesting, my students can use an app to communicate with me and get my attention from across the room. I have seen students struggling to communicate use this mode of expression and the enjoyment of independence they feel is forever priceless.

Having an iPad with a communication app will be so freeing and inspiring to my students and there families because it will open up the world of communication, and there is no greater gift than that.
