My Project

If you clicked on this project, chances are you remember the magic that is the novel Island of the Blue Dolphins from your own childhood. Help me bring that magic and adventure to my own classroom as a my students jump into a true children's classic! My students are going to ADORE the story of Karana who must learn to survive on an island after she is separated from her tribe.

This project would give each of my students the opportunity to read along to this fantastic novel with their own book.

They can then use the novels to practice text referencing skills, literary analysis and accompanying essays. This class set of novels would not only serve as a fantastic read aloud, but a tool students can actively use during independent practice. These allow for a text rich environment my students truly deserve. We are so excited to see this project grow into reality and can't wait to go on this exciting adventure!
