My Students

My students are like my family. They are so near and dear to my heart. My students are hard workers who love to learn! I teach at a Title I funded school with more than half of our student body composed of low-income families.

My students enjoy hands-on activities as well as exploring new ideas.

I love them, and I want to help them maximize their growth in the classroom to help make them successful adults.

My Project

The materials used will help make a difference in how students learn. This standing desk gives them an opportunity to choose how they will benefit best from being able to choose if they prefer to stand and complete work or sit in a chair that will accommodate them if they have trouble keeping still.

This provides flexibility and options instead of sitting in one place for long periods of time.

Based on research and testimonies from other teachers, giving kids the option to choose seating helps them learn better, they are more comfortable in the environment, and willing to complete tasks given.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
