iPads to Level the Playing Field Part 1

Help me give my students a new iPad for distance learning. The touch capabilities of an iPad make it ideal for students with disabilities.

My Students

My students have been learning remotely since March 16th. For some of my students, this has created little interruption to their lives, they are able to complete the work and they have the resources to do so. For some of our students, this has been life altering. They lack the resources to properly engage in online learning. This has had a profound impact on the students in our multiple disabilities class. Our school has Chromebooks but these can be cumbersome to use for some students with fine motor or balance concerns. iPads, with the ability to touch, with hard cases to protect in case of a fall, would help our students tremendously.

My Project

The students that are in our multiple disabilities unit are in need of iPads for distance learning. These iPads are easier for students to handle than a Chromebook. The touch capability of the iPads will allow students to easily select a response rather than relying on typing.

We cannot allow the challenges of distance learning to let any student fall behind.

Every student should have an equal opportunity to learn and these unfortunate circumstances are making it more difficult on some of our most vulnerable students. These iPads will also help parents to better assist their students. Our families are eager to help, they just need the proper supplies to do so.
