Ms. Sanders from Sumter SC is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need iPads and headphones in order to provide them opportunities to work and excel at their own level and pace.

I am a special education teacher who works with students with learning disabilities. I work in a Title One school where all the students receive free breakfast and lunch; however, we do not always have the resources that we need to enrich learning experiences and this makes it difficult for students to get the support they need.
Many of my students’ home life is not traditional; some live with one parent, grandparents, a close relative or friend, or go between homes.
In addition, my students come to school and do the best they possibly can regardless of their life events and/or struggles.
My wish is to offer these children a safe and innovated environment where they can grow to be confident in themselves, successful, contributing, and involved members of society.
I will use the iPads to implement research-based instructional programs that allow students an exciting way to learn and keep them engaged. The students will use the iPads to complete lessons through various programs, such as Google Classroom (web-based interactive learning), and independent work for the purpose of mastering the lessons. Having iPads in the classroom lends itself to collaboration because of the easy access to online classroom tools, such as Google Classroom and project base lessons.
Children in the Special Education program will have the opportunity to learn with technology.
The objective is to effectively integrate technology into the classroom; this will enrich the classroom by connecting with students of various learning styles, providing the opportunity for collaboration, enhancing student engagement, providing lesson interaction, and minimizing/ replace the traditional passive learning approach. The goal is to incorporate technology into the lesson plans specifically designed for children with special needs.
