This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In our class if you can dream it you can do it! With iPads, math and science would become more than possible. Virtual field trips to explore our National Parks and racing students from other countries on math equations would turn the impossible into exciting, engaging reality!

I teach K - 6th grade students with learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, and ADHD at a high poverty school in California.

As a resource teacher my students come to my room to work on skills they need in order to flourish in the general education classroom. They require the high-paced, intensive intervention my room provides to help them to reach for the dreams in their heart. Most of my students are working 1 to 3 grade levels below their grade level and require very specific interventions in order for them to gain the skills they need to be successful.

My Project

I am requesting two iPads and a case to use for small group instruction in math, science, and literacy. My students will be able to use the iPads to race students in other countries while identifying math facts, explore rockets at NASA, watch penguins in their natural habitat, and write blogs sharing all they have seen and learned. These iPads will also help my students learn to tell time, apply math in real world situations with the Yummy Math site, and understand financial literacy. Moreover, with the iPads we can take a virtual trip through the human body, research earthquakes, and explore cultural diversity. The iPads may also be used to research and present a science experiment. With the iPads my students will be using 21st century tools to learn math, explore science, read ebooks, and discover culture in other parts of the world. And with your donations, you will be helping my students to gain exciting new information. iPads provide endless opportunities for learning!!

Technology, science, math, and literacy are synonymous with the 21st century!

Two iPads with a case will give my students the ability to explore the world while providing the engaging practice they require. Using a tool that today's digital natives are familiar with enables them to enhance their math and science skills while reaching for their dreams!!
