My Students

Remember the days when you thought Charlie Brown's teacher was actually YOUR teacher? "Whaa Whaa " should be a thing of the past! My students need a classroom that can compete with the entertainment opportunities from home. With an iPad, my students will be entertained and engaged at the same time.

My third graders cannot be described in such a small space!

I have 27 students that range from all different backgrounds and races, as well as their own needs to be successful. While we consider ourselves a family, we recognize and celebrate that we are all different and succeed in different ways. My group of average students, high-achieving students, students with learning disabilities, English language learners, and students with autism, all together make up a supportive, caring atmosphere that boosts each other in our academic adventures every day.

My Project

With an iPad, my students' learning will actually compete with the entertainment they have at home. Being able to have the immediate access to technology and apps available, I would be able to give students the ability to learn on their level as I differentiate program use guided to each child's needs. Students would have the opportunity to experience educational opportunities that are not outdated and often lacking interest level like the materials we have at school now. An iPad gives us the capabilities of updated reading texts, read-aloud availability, the use of electronic math manipulatives, and so much more! Students would be able to use the iPad as a learning tool that doesn't feel like learning, but more like active, engaging fun. As a teacher, I would be able to connect the iPad to the projector for whole class use as well, so the use is not limited to just one student. The possibilities are endless!

Let's face it... our classrooms need to catch up with our kids.

Students today have so much technology available at their fingertips, and one classroom computer (with limited programs) just doesn't cut it anymore. Help me give my students the technology they need to learn and feel entertained at the same time. Learning is fun, and my students deserve the opportunity to develop that love for learning with an iPad in the classroom.
