In my classroom, we strive to grow our school family everyday. We do this through a positive attitude, being kind to others, and helping a friend when they are in need. More than half of the students at my school come from low-income households and it is my duty to provide that safe space for them. In our safe space, it is okay to make mistakes, celebrate our accomplishments, and be the best we can be!
My students show up to school everyday with a smile and I am there to lead them on a path to achievement and growth.
Through math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, we work to grow our brains strong all day long. Primary students are just at beginning their academic journey and it is here that the roots of success are sown.
Having iPads will allow me to reach my students in so many ways! These can be used for a tool during math centers and supplement our classroom laptops. Students will engage in interactive math learning games that are tailored to their level.
iPads will transform my guided reading and allow me to offer more hands on phonics activities.
At the first grade level, mastering those more sophisticated phonics skills is essential. My students will experience a more tailored and differentiated reading block with iPads.
This extra technology will also prepare my students for the 21st century. Being able to utilize technology is an essential skill for the world around us. My school district is also 1-1 laptop in middle school and high school: I want to prepare my first graders for this as early as possible.
