This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I would love to have all my students on grade level in both math and reading by the end of the year. This is a challenge because we have an extremely high mobility rate and the students lack an interest to do well in school. I'm hoping by getting iPads my students become engaged and eager to learn.

I teach in a low socioeconomic area.

My students love getting on computers because most of them do not have them at home. My school struggles with testing because we have a high mobility rate and our students are constantly moving around between schools. Technology is a great way to engage my students and iPads in the classroom would help me to not only engage my students but also help them improve their skills in reading and math.

My Project

I am requesting 5 iPads. With a small group set of iPads, my students would be able to accomplish so many things! I would be able to use them in a workstation so the students could work on district mandated computer programs which help the students on their level in both reading and math. I would also be able to use them to promote reading. My students would be able to read a book and then use the iPad to test for accelerated reader. This would be a great incentive for the students. Also, kids just love using iPads. I would be able to put different educational games on the iPad and allow the students to play these games as they finish their other work.

This donation would help by giving kids hope.

I work with many kids who expect nothing in life. I would love to be able to give them iPads and tell them how much someone else cares about their learning. It would mean a lot to them to know that someone else, besides the teacher, cares about their learning.
