Help me give my students 2, 32 GB iPads and carrying case. The iPads are the latest generation, have wiFi capability (which will make uploading/emailing photo assignments a breeze). The carrying cases have an integrated hand strap.
My students are 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders enrolled in a rural Northeast high school. Our school is a large public high school with nearly 2700 students.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with many of our students receiving free lunch.
Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the Northeast.
The students I am primarily involved with are extremely creative and enrolled in the Visual Arts program at our school. I teach Computer Graphics where students are in need of new chairs because the current chairs or lack thereof are inadequate in every way.
My Project
These iPads are going to be used most immediatly as long term loaner iPads for students to borrow that do not have a camera to use. Since we are going to a hybrid model of teaching, when the school year starts, students will be doing work at home one day, and then here at school the next. We will be teaching digital photography through cell phones, iPads, and DSLR cameras (based on what the students have available to them). We are not allowed to share materials on a daily basis, so by letting the students borrow an ipad for extended period of time, we will be providing a more permanent solution, so that the student can still be part of our class.
