My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and from various different communities. I love how open and willing to learn they are because of that. Despite their willingness to learn, many of them come from circumstances that have have set great obstacles in their path to education. I have a number of foster children who have struggled to meet behavioral expectations throughout their school career. With patience and understanding, but also firm boundaries, I feel those students in particular have made great strides and set a wonderful example to other students for what I expect in my classroom.

Despite their differences, each of my students shows tenacity in learning new and difficult concepts.

Each new lesson brings out emotions of uncertainty, but by the end I can see that they are more confident and feel capable of expanding their knowledge and skills.

My Project

iPads open up a large pool of educational apps for students to use that are not available to them on their Chromebooks. They can be used to offer targeted practice for struggling learners as well as extend the learning of students who have mastered the standards we are currently learning.

The possibilities for individualizing the learning of my students will increase exponentially with the addition of these iPads.

While 2 iPads may not seem like a lot, they will go a long way in helping my students to reach their educational goals.
