Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A majority of my students are learning English as a second language. They enjoy making connections between new vocabulary and concepts that we are learning in both of their languages. Many are also from low income families. While these factors can be challenging, my students are dedicated to making the best out of any situation.

The students in my classroom are compassionate, motivated learners.

They truly enjoy discovering new knowledge in a hands on way. Most of my students have made great growth in both math and reading this year. They absolutely love science and social studies, particularly learning about the people who have influenced our world.

My Project

My students need access to, and experience with technology to be successful in our modern world. Many of my students do not have internet access at home, and our technology available at school is very limited.

Having an iPad will allow my students to research a topic for each unit of science and social studies, and create presentations to help them teach their classmates.

These are skills they need for their lives ahead of them!

Additionally, my students will also be able to use educational apps for literacy, math, and science. Not to mention, text-to-speech features will open doors for my struggling readers to access content above their reading level!
