iPads For Hands-On Science Education

My Students

My students are curious, kind, and ready to learn. These 7th Grade Life Science and 8th Grade Physical Science Students are ready to explore science and everything it has to offer. From cells to ecosystems, everything I mention seems to interest them. My students, in just a few weeks, have shown respect for me and their peers that makes the classroom enjoyable every day. These students are from Washington, D.C. and you might think that they have everything at their fingertips but in reality, they have so much to see and learn. This project is to get them curious about science and to build a foundation for a career.

My Project

Within the classroom, there is a need for the availability of technology daily. My classroom is filled with 7th grade Life Science and 8th Grade Physical Science Students who are constantly intrigued in their learning and want to expand, but with limited technology, we are not able to do so. Having these iPads would allow students to work in groups of 2 or 3 and be lead through PHET Interactive Labs, Nearpods, class discussions, and more!

These iPads would come in and be utilized on day one!

They would be also put to use helping students with differentiated needs; including, but not limited to, leveled text to help understand relevant articles presented in class, for audio/visual learners to have a self-paced activity, and many ofter ways to help specialize instruction.
